About

ABOUT BLANKETFORT STUDIO

An independent recording studio in Greer, SC built by musicians, for musicians — helping artists across Greenville and the Upstate create, record, and grow under one roof.

A couple of years ago, Mickey started clearing out a side building that had once been used to store vintage Porsches. After the owner moved out, the place sat quiet, collecting dust. It wasn’t big, but it had potential. The first time he recorded in it, only part of the space was usable. They set up a few mics, surrounded a drum kit with moving blankets, and tracked what would become the first EP out of Blanketfort, with local band Les Garçon. That same blanket—used for baffling in that first session—now hangs in the studio’s tracking room, framed as a proper acoustic panel. It’s a reminder of how this place started: humble, hands-on, and all about the music.  Hence the name “Blanketfort”.

In October 2025, after a full renovation, Blanketfort officially opened to the public as a commercial studio space. Since the beginning, the space has continued to grow—along with the services offered. But the core idea has stayed the same: support artists, build trust, and help people create their best work in an environment that actually feels good to work in.

Our Mission

We’re not just here to press record. We’re here to help artists move forward creatively and professionally.

From songwriting and pre-production all the way through mixing, mastering, and release planning, Blanketfort offers end-to-end support. We help you finish strong, then help you get your work out into the world with content that connects and strategies that make sense. We offer consulting, live show support, booking help, and even EPK creation and beyond—because finishing a song is just one small step in the process.

Our clients range from local bands recording their first demo to experienced artists launching full releases. Everyone gets treated with the same level of care and attention. We want people to leave this studio feeling proud of what they’ve made—and confident in what comes next.

A longtime collaborator and friend of Mickey’s for nearly two decades, Chris has been part of countless tribute and performance projects. Now, as Blanketfort’s resident percussion consultant and gear head, he proudly supports the studio by providing a growing collection of Gretsch drums available for use, ensuring every session sounds as good as it feels.
