FAQs

FAQ Recording & Tracking

How many songs can I record in a day at Blanketfort Studio?

It depends on your project and how prepared you are. On average, artists can track 2–4 songs in a full-day session if everything is ready to go. A half-day session (6 hours) is great for singles, overdubs, or focused vocal work. For larger projects like EPs or albums, we recommend multi-day bundles or custom quotes so there’s no clock-watching.

Do you offer hourly recording rates, or just day rates?

We work primarily with half-day and full-day sessions, because that gives artists the time to relax and create without feeling rushed. That said, custom project quotes are available if you prefer to book by project instead of the clock — especially for multi-song packages like EPs or albums. This is always the best value.

What recording formats and files will I receive?

You’ll receive standard WAV files for all your tracks. Multitrack stems can be provided if you’d like to take your project elsewhere for mixing. If you book mixing or mastering with us, you’ll also get final release-ready files formatted for streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.).

Can you handle mixing and mastering as well?

Yes. Tracking, mixing, and mastering can all be done under one roof at Blanketfort. Many artists prefer this because the engineer already knows the session and the sound you’re going for. If you just want tracking, that’s fine too — but adding mixing/mastering ensures your songs are truly release-ready.

FAQ Mixing & Mastering

Do you offer remote mixing and mastering services?

Absolutely. You don’t have to be in Greenville or Greer to work with us — artists from anywhere can send files digitally. We’ll mix and master your tracks in our Greer, SC studio, then send back high-resolution WAVs and streaming-ready versions. Revisions can all be handled remotely, so the process is smooth and collaborative.

How many revisions are included?

We want you to love the final result. Every mix package includes 2–3 free revisions, and mastering includes at least one free revision. Additional changes beyond that are rarely needed, but we’re flexible — the goal is to make sure your music sounds exactly how you want it.

What do I receive when the project is finished?

You’ll receive:

  • High-resolution WAV files (studio quality)

  • Streaming-optimized versions (loudness and formatting ready for Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc.)

  • MP3 files for quick sharing

  • Stems on request if you want flexibility for future remixes, live tracks, or alternate edits

Why does mixing and mastering matter for my music?

Without proper mixing and mastering, even a great performance can sound unbalanced, muddy, or too quiet compared to commercial releases. Mixing ensures every element of your track sits right in the mix, while mastering makes sure it translates across all speakers and platforms. It’s the difference between a song that sounds homemade and one that feels release-ready and competitive.

FAQ Live Session Video

What is a live session video?

A live session video is a video recording of your performance in a professional studio, mixed with studio-quality audio. Unlike a traditional music video, it captures the raw energy of your live performance while still sounding polished enough for release.

Why should I record my live session at Blanketfort Studio

At Blanketfort, you can record, film, and mix under one roof.  You’ll walk away with content that looks sharp and sounds like a record. Artists in Greenville, Greer, and the Upstate book with us because it’s more affordable than a full music video and perfect for YouTube, press kits, or promo.

What’s included in a BlanketFort live session video package?

Every session includes:

  • Single or multi-cam video capture (2–3 cameras + lighting)

  • Studio-quality audio recording & mix

  • Flexible delivery: raw files, edited video, or livestream

How do I book a live session video at Blanketfort Studio?

It’s easy—just contact us to reserve a date at our Greer, SC studio. We’ll discuss your setlist, video needs, and any add-ons you want, then handle the rest.

FAQ Distribution & Release

Do you provide promotional support too?

Our focus is on making sure your distribution and release setup is flawless, but we also advise on promo strategy. We’ll walk you through the basics of social rollouts, short-form video clips, and email/social links. For deeper marketing and PR campaigns, we can handle that too.

Why should I use Blanketfort instead of uploading my music myself?

Anyone can upload music, but mistakes with metadata, ISRCs, release dates, or audio formatting can cost you streams, royalties, and visibility. By working with Blanketfort, you get hands-on, local support in Greenville / Greer, SC from a team that already knows your music. It’s a seamless add-on to our mixing and mastering services, saving you time, stress, and potential headaches.

Do I need a label to release music on Spotify or Apple Music?

No — you don’t need a record label to distribute your music. At Blanketfort Studio, we help independent artists in Greenville, Greer, and across the Upstate get their music onto Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon, and hundreds of other platforms through professional distribution channels.

What’s the difference between distribution and promotion?

Distribution is the technical side — getting your music uploaded correctly with metadata, ISRCs/UPCs, and release dates so it shows up on streaming platforms. Promotion is the marketing side — building awareness through social media, press, and content. Blanketfort handles the distribution setup for you and can advise on promotional strategies, but can help you with promotion too!

What audio format should I send for distribution?

We recommend 24-bit WAV files for the highest quality upload. We’ll make sure your audio is properly formatted and streaming-optimized so it sounds great on Spotify, Apple Music, and beyond.
